ABS or Non ABS**

Harley Offers their Touring Bikes in 2 Brake Configurations, ABS and Non-ABS. There are a few ways to determine what your bike is configured as…

  • The easiest way would be to check the Clutch side lower brake line that attaches to the Caliper. An ABS bike has a 2nd small wire attached to the brake line that feeds the ABS sensor at the Hub. This wire means your Bike has Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS)
  • There is also a module located behind the trim panel located on the throttle side of the bike, Underneath the seat and in front of the saddlebag…This is an ABS Module. If you have this module, you have ABS. If it is not there your bike is Non-ABS
  • The 3rd way to check is by looking above the front tire. A Non-ABS Configuration will have a 3-way brake splitter here. The Brake line will run from the Lever, directly to this splitter above the front tire, then down to each caliper. An ABS Setup will have the Upper Brake line run from the Brake lever, under the tank and directly to the ABS Module underneath the Trim Panel
